Jessica Chastain and Mike Krieger
Jessica Chastain and Mike Krieger are two well-known public figures from two very different worlds. Chastain is an American actress and producer who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Krieger is a Brazilian-American software engineer and entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of Instagram. There is no verified personal relationship, family link, business partnership, or collaboration between them. They are searched together because both are prominent names, not because they have worked together.
Who Is Jessica Chastain?
Jessica Michelle Chastain is an American actress and producer. She was born on 24 March 1977 in Sacramento, California, which makes her 49 years old as of November 2026. She is known for demanding, complex roles, often in projects with feminist themes, across film, television, and theatre.
Chastain made her professional stage debut in 1998, playing Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. She then studied acting at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she was accepted on a scholarship funded by actor Robin Williams, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2003.
Her film breakthrough came in 2011 with The Help, which brought her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following year she played a CIA analyst in Zero Dark Thirty, earning a second Academy Award nomination, this time for Best Actress, and a Golden Globe Award. Her best-known films also include Interstellar, The Martian, Molly’s Game, and The Good Nurse.
Her most decorated role was in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021), in which she played televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker, a film she also produced. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress at the 2022 ceremony. She founded Freckle Films in 2016, to promote diversity in film and create opportunities for women in the industry.
In her personal life, Chastain is married to Italian fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, who works for the fashion house Moncler. They began dating in 2012 and married on 10 June 2017 in Italy. They have two children together.
On money, no single net worth figure for Chastain should be treated as confirmed. Published estimates vary: $40 million and $50 million are the figures most commonly given by celebrity net worth trackers, while at least one tracker gives $20 million. None is officially confirmed, and Chastain has not publicly disclosed her personal finances. Any figure quoted for her should therefore be read as an estimate, not as a verified fact.
Who Is Mike Krieger?
Michel Krieger, known as Mike Krieger, is a Brazilian-American software engineer and entrepreneur. He was born on 4 March 1986 in São Paulo, Brazil, which makes him 40 years old as of November 2026. He is best known as the co-founder of Instagram, the photo-sharing platform that became one of the most widely used social networks in the world.
Krieger moved from Brazil to California in 2004 to attend Stanford University, where he studied symbolic systems, a discipline between computer science and psychology. He earned both an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in symbolic systems at Stanford, where he met Kevin Systrom, his future co-founder at Instagram.
In 2010, Krieger and Systrom co-founded Instagram, and Krieger became its Chief Technology Officer. In 2012, Facebook, now Meta, acquired Instagram for $1 billion in cash and stock, only about two years after the app launched. Under Krieger’s engineering leadership, Instagram grew to 1 billion monthly users, and its engineering team grew to more than 450 people. He and Systrom left Instagram in 2018.
After leaving Instagram, Krieger built products with Systrom again: first Rt.live, which tracked the spread of COVID-19, and then Artifact, a personalised news app using artificial intelligence. Artifact launched in January 2023 and Yahoo acquired its underlying technology in April 2024.
On 15 May 2024, Anthropic, the company behind the AI assistant Claude, announced that Krieger had joined as its first Chief Product Officer. In January 2026, Anthropic announced that Krieger was moving into Anthropic Labs, its team for experimental products, to build alongside Ben Mann. Ami Vora took leadership of the product organisation. As of 2026, Krieger therefore works at Anthropic Labs, not as Chief Product Officer.
Krieger is married to Kaitlyn Trigger, also known as Kaitlyn Krieger, who worked at Instagram as a community manager.
On money, no single net worth figure for Krieger should be treated as confirmed. Published trackers disagree sharply: figures of $100 million, $350 million, and $400 million to $500 million were all found, and one listing gave $1.5 billion. Krieger has not publicly disclosed his personal finances, so any figure quoted for him should be read as an estimate, not as a verified fact.
What Connects Them?
No verified connection connects Jessica Chastain and Mike Krieger. The biographies and company records reviewed for this article do not document a personal relationship, a family link, a marriage, a dating relationship, a business partnership, or a joint project between them. No credible source confirms that they have met, worked together, or collaborated on a film, a product, or a company.
The only things they genuinely share are broad and do not amount to a connection. Both are successful founders: Chastain founded Freckle Films in 2016, and Krieger co-founded Instagram in 2010. Both are married, and both built their reputations in the 2010s. None of that means they know each other or have any professional relationship.

No. Jessica Chastain and Mike Krieger are not related. There is no documented family relationship between them. They were born nine years apart, on different continents: Chastain in Sacramento, California, and Krieger in São Paulo, Brazil. They do not share a surname, a family background, or a known relative.
Why Are They Searched Together?
People search for them together for a few likely reasons, none of which points to a real connection. Both are prominent names often in the news for separate reasons: Chastain for films and awards, and Krieger for Instagram, Artifact, and Anthropic. Search engines sometimes group a trending celebrity name with a trending technology figure because the two names appear in the same news cycles, not because the people are connected. Some readers may also have seen the two names paired in an article and want to check whether the pairing means something, which is exactly the question this article answers.
Conclusion

Chastain is an Oscar-winning actress and producer who trained at Juilliard, won the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and founded Freckle Films. Krieger is a Brazilian-American engineer who studied at Stanford, co-founded Instagram, served as its Chief Technology Officer through its $1 billion acquisition by Facebook, later built Artifact, and now works at Anthropic Labs. They are not married to each other, not related, not business partners, and not collaborators on any verified project. Their net worth figures are in both cases only published estimates that conflict with each other and are not officially confirmed.
